Jono Heyes grew up in the rugged backcountry of Otago, Aotearoa New Zealand, and is now based in South Bohemia, Czech Republic, where has been living off-grid in a gipsy wagon.
A songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and creative artist, thematically his work draws on a deep connection to different cultures, ecology, peace, and the magical stories that open our eyes a little wider to the wonder of the world.
He has released six internationally acclaimed albums, including Beehive, which reached the Top 10 of the World Music Charts, and earned a nomination for Best Folk Artist at the 2019 Aotearoa New Zealand Music Awards, for the album 9 Pilgrims.
His imaginative compositional work has also been presented through collaborations with Le Cabaret Nomade, Le Gyptis Cinema, Sladovna Gallery, and Suncab, and most recently the soon to be released Book and Audiobook called Monyo.
